Wow. Talk about inclusion, exclusion, and belonging. Should joining the army be the way for people to get green cards (an otherwise arduous, confusing, frustrating, nearly impossible, red tape surrounded process)?
I think if people are willing to lay down there lives for this country, of course they should be granted citizenship. However, I think any service to the country should qualify.
What do you guys think?

An interesting article and comment, Ilana. I definitely understand where you are coming from. This certainly reveals the US's priorities and emphasis on the particular value of military service. I like your suggestion of seeing this through the lens of inclusion/exclusion and wonder how the last lines (the reaction of those who feel that the immigrants are likely to be terrorists or saboteurs) should be considered...
